High-rate Thickener for Counter Current Decantation Circuit (CCD Process)

 

Working Principle

Generally this type thickener has double or triple thickening chambers arranged vertically, it seems like that two or three thickeners are piled together. The double-deck thickener is the example to show the working principle. The slurry is fed into the thickener through the central feeding well. The clear water supplied from the pipeline is distributed into each thickener chamber to wash the slurry. The washed slurry freely settling onto the upper bottom is scraped and collected to the central discharge hole by the slow rotating rake then it enters into the lower thickening chamber. The slurry in the lower thickening chamber is washed by water and settles onto the lower bottom then it is scraped and collected to the central hole by the rake for discharging. The water after washing flows up and overflows out of the overflow weir of the upper chickening chamber to the next processing stage.

 

Features

Only one equipment performs two or three stages of washing which has smaller area, cheaper investment and reduces the steps of operation and management. 

Application

It is mainly used counter current washing  and decantation of gold cyanide leaching circuit, and can also be used for the washing and dewatering in hydrometallurgy, light industry and chemical industry.
