Gold or Silver Vat Leach and CIC

Some gold ores or tailings have not very high gold grade but it is easy to leach. Moreover, the mine owners hope to reduce the investment of the processing plant and make profits as soon as possible. The circuit of vat leach and CIC processes is an optimized option.

The suitable crushed ore particles or tailings are leached in the pads lined with the geomembrane which prevents leakage. The raw materials should to be granulated or mixed with cement to enhance water permeability if the ore has too much slime/clay or the water permeability of materials is poor.

The pregnant solution (gold bearing solution) generated by leaching permeates through the filtration layer on the bottom and is collected into the pregnant solution pond. Then the solution is pumped into a modular CIC (carbon in column) unit consisting of a series of carbon adsorption columns.

After gold is adsorbed in the CIC unit, the pregnant solution becomes the barren solution which is pumped back to the pad for leaching.

The loaded carbon after full adsorption is burned or sent to the elution-electrowinning system to recover gold.

The vat leach system designed by HZE has a unique aeration method and the pregnant solution collection pipeline which shorten the cycle time and improves the recovery by at least 5%.

HZE design the vat leach and CIC processes system with various sizes and dispatch the engineers to guide on-site pad construction, materials loading, commissioning, trial production, unloading and the next processes and provide with the comprehensive and meticulous operation training and service guarantee.
